About

Hi there! By day, I'm a Principal Security Engineer. By night… well, I'm still pretty focused on tech. My world revolves around security, platform engineering, and the endless puzzle of making technology work better.

With roots in software development, I've got a soft spot for the entire stack – from Python and Ruby down to the nitty-gritty of bash and PowerShell, and up through modern frameworks like React and .NET Core. If you can build with it, I'm probably curious about it. Much of this happens in my Proxmox-based homelab, which serves as my primary playground for experimentation. Tinkering isn't just a hobby; it's how I learn and explore what's possible.

I'm a huge believer in sharing what I learn – the wins and the facepalms. You'll find a strong security-first mindset woven into everything here; building securely from the start just makes sense, especially when managing your own infrastructure. Automation is another core theme. If a task can be reliably automated (think Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Ansible, smooth CI/CD pipelines, or "GitOps" workflows, often tested within the homelab), I'm all for it. It's not just about efficiency; it's about building robust systems and freeing up brainpower for more interesting challenges.

This blog is where I unpack topics mainly in security, platform engineering, and automation, frequently through the lens of my homelab experiences. My hope is that sharing my experiences – the successes, the roadblocks, and the 'aha!' moments – might be useful or spark an idea for your own projects. I'm always learning, and I enjoy figuring this stuff out. Hopefully, you'll find something valuable here!
